Every kind of content has a clear role.
- News is a concise synthesis of registered sources. Each item carries a publisher and a link back to the reporting.
- Weather and environmental data come from named external providers and include an observation or forecast time.
- Calendar and important dates come only from information you connected or entered. Daymanac does not embellish them.
- Custom stories are creative AI-generated writing, permanently labelled as fiction and kept separate from news.
- Sudoku and date calculations are produced by deterministic code, not generative AI.
News should inform, not provoke.
Selection rewards relevance to the topics you chose, recency, materiality, source quality, and novelty. Daymanac avoids clickbait, certainty inflation, emotional manipulation, and repetition used only to fill space.
You may choose broad sourced coverage, a curated publisher policy, or research-focused coverage. A custom publisher list is enforced as an allowlist; an explicit block always wins.
Personal does not mean invasive.
Only enabled skills may contribute personal context. Calendar access is read-only. Event descriptions, attendee emails, conferencing details, and attachments are excluded from edition generation. A busy mode can hide event titles and locations as well.
Personal facts are not combined with news to infer sensitive traits. Private edition bodies and Calendar details are excluded from product analytics and operational logs.
Corrections remain visible.
Feedback about an inaccurate section records a category and internal identifiers, not a copy of the private edition. A correction creates a new revision; delivered editions are not silently rewritten.
